31 FAM is a group from Sabadell. Let me take roll call — all born around the year 2000: Kid Pi (Eduard Freixas), Joey C (Joel Cosp), LilDidi (Dídac Serra), Bandam (Ferran Vilalta), Koalekay (Alex Gil), AAA (Álex Sánchez). Their names sound like they went to school with me at a private Catholic school, and their stage names like guests at Notorious B.I.G.’s birthday party. They seem like good kids: 31 is the house number of one of them, and FAM stands for “family.” They make what I like to call joyful-sensitive-urban. I dance to them like the history teacher getting into it at the end-of-year party with a cup of Fanta in hand. The song “Bona vida” has been with me many times on my bike rides (on the way to the senior center where I’ve had a spot for the past two months).
