There is something deeply powerful about discovering a universe where the limits of language no longer apply — and that is Amanda Mur’s world. Where words fall short and literal meaning dissolves, music conveys everything that needs to be understood. Her debut, Neu Om (La Castanya, 2025), is a present-tense prayer shaped by what haunts her: from grief to motherhood, migration, and the construction of identity. There is as much that is elevated as there is profoundly human. You could say it sounds like ambient electronics, reimagined tradition, or the freedom that comes after years of classical music training — and all of that would be true. It’s a project that amplifies the lived and inherited reality of this Cantabrian artist. To enter her sonic spaces is to listen to the emotional brilliance of someone who has much to say, but doesn’t need words to express it.
