Getdown Services
Getdown Services is the duo formed by Josh Law and Ben Sadler, who have been making music together since they met in the school playground. Their debut album, Crisps (2023), positioned them as one of the most distinctive acts of the moment, with danceable rhythms and lyrics full of humor and social critique. Following their much-praised EP Your Medal’s In The Post (2024), they’ve completed two sold-out tours across the UK and Europe, cementing their reputation for wild, high-energy live shows.
Since I don’t like labels, I’ll make a long one: Getdown Services are a kind of danceable post-punk band with backing tracks that are sometimes electronic, sometimes organic, and a distinctive vocal element present in all their songs — spoken word. Usually, this “singing” style is used by people who can’t actually sing, but that’s not the case here. Getdown Services blend spoken word with pretty catchy melodies, and sometimes they even go for a bit of rap. And yes, they both sing.
