María SOA and Sara Faro are Fillas de Cassandra, a project that blends dark, powerful electronic music with Galician oral tradition and a feminist perspective. After the album Acrópole (2023) and the show Últimas Dionisíacas (2024), they take the stage at MMVV to present their latest work, Hibernarse.
Picking up the thread of Galician musical tradition with new sounds sounds great. Doing it from a feminist stance — another kind of tradition — also sounds great. And it sounds even better when it’s done through conceptual albums, carefully crafted with both fire and precision: from Greek mythology — Acrópole (Altafonte, 2023) — to reflections on time — Hibernarse (Altafonte, 2025). Yes, it all sounds great, but making it happen successfully is another matter entirely — and it’s precisely what María Soa and Sara Faro are doing. These artists from Vigo, overflowing with talent, know exactly what they’re doing — and what they’re doing matters. Also, let’s face it: they’re cool. Really, really cool.
