Reggae Per Xics

Reggae per Xics presents El Cuc Quàntic, their sixth album, inspired by the universes of Dr. Who, Star Trek, and H.G. Wells. With a machine that allows time-space travel, the band offers a musical adventure for all ages. The repertoire explores one of the most universal dreams —exploring other worlds— through Jamaican styles such as ska, rocksteady, reggae, and dancehall.

What were some penguins doing in Jamaica in 2006? With all that heat, they migrated to Sant Feliu de Llobregat to spread the culture of reggae music to new generations. And that’s how REGGAE PER XICS was born. From classic riddims adapted into Catalan, they moved on to create their own songs and offer stories and journeys of their own making. They’ve boarded a train, danced on the moon, and after setting sail and writing a Logbook (Buenritmo Records, 2021), they’re now experimenting with El cuc quàntic (Buenritmo Records, 2024)… Would it be surprising if they ended up as penguins on a beach in Jamaica, or in Baix Llobregat?
