ECONOMIC IMPACT STUDY
res_ & CORAL CANIGÓ
In April 2022, Hivern Discs surprised with a cassette and a book that quickly sold out, with little information about who was behind it. It was res_és_nostre, a duo linked to the Barcelona electronic scene that explores the meeting of poetry and sound. The project, featuring texts by la juns, combines original and sampled verses, improvisation, and electronic textures in a bold and unclassifiable proposal, halfway between writing and sound experimentation. They present the project at MMVV accompanied by the Coral Canigó choir.
Traces of RES_’s existence are scarce. If you Google them, you’ll find that Oma Totem (the musician) and Juns (the poet) released a reference in 2022 with Hivern Discs — a book-cassette — which quickly sold out, and afterwards performed at some poetry festivals. If you delve deeper, you’ll notice that darkness and mystery also embrace their ambient and cinematic collages, broken prosody, texts recited layered with loops and buzzes, and the visuals they prepare. Undoubtedly, one of the most intriguing proposals at this Mercat de Música Viva de Vic.
