With this new album released by Bankrobber in 2025, the composer from Empordà returns to the exquisite pop that defined his beginnings and gave us anthems like No tinc temps and Eufòria. After four years of musical silence, vitality, catchy melodies, and unique lyrics that embody Mazoni’s full personality make their comeback. A work that reaffirms his place in Catalan popular culture with a clear and unmistakable voice.
Some of the artists that come to mind when we think of the country’s music are Sau, Els Pets, or Manel. Many others? Of course. Mazoni? Not really. But we must admit that his name, although more faint, resonates among the great icons of the scene. That probably means Jaume Pla’s project sounds like real music which, despite coexisting with other big bands, is remembered as the music of the bands from before. The good ones. Even for young ignorants like us. Since then and before, Mazoni has championed music with pop, touches of rock and sampling, but above all, with lyrics. “We demand euphoria” as you listen.
