JUVENTUDE

JUVENTUDE is the duo formed by Ángel and Nico, two young Andalusians bringing fresh sounds to the Spanish music scene. They describe their style as “surrealist pop for the people on the dancefloor,” blending Andalusian folklore, pop, rock, indie, and grittier urban sounds, all wrapped in a striking aesthetic. With just a few singles, they’ve already drawn attention, and their debut LP is set to be released in October 2025.

Tell me who you sound like, and I’ll tell you who you are. Or better yet: I’ll tell you whether you’re worth listening to. JUVENTUDE seem to love glorious bands—or at least, that’s what their songs suggest. “La Motillo” and “Cassius Clay” recall a kind of rumba-infused Los Bravos. Meanwhile, “Morir en primavera” sounds like The Specials filtered through Califato ¾. And their latest single, “Reina de mis males,” hits with that timeless 70s groove. We don’t know much about JUVENTUDE. They’re a duo from Seville, and they’ve released a handful of singles (five) that blend the old regime with the new—effortlessly. Two mysteries remain to complete the equation: their debut album and seeing them live, which something tells me will be as thrilling as it is unexpected.
